Welcome
to our visitors and readers at our new place of
György Fejér Town Library at 3 Zeppelin square. In the last 5 decades after our institution was established in 1953 it operated in the Festetics Castle in a fascinating art memorial environment. The rooms of this building didn’t serve every purpose of the librarian tasks. The town leadership made possible for us to welcome you in a rebuilt office and a newly built reading room in such a library which is worthy of Keszthely, the town of culture. In our web side you can get to know our versatile services of which the traditional borrowing is only one part. Enrolled readers for the adult section in György Festetics Town Library can be every Hungarian or foreign citizen over the age of 12. Librarian membership takes 365 days and its renewal should be stated annually. In Accordance with the 1997 CXL law the librarian users are due to the following basic services:

the children library
The children library established in 1974 has been operating since 1989 in the current place, at 2 Kossuth street. We are at disposal for our visitors and readers between 0-14 years old with stock of 20 thousands volumes, 120 pieces of CD-ROM and about 100 pieces of video cassettes, 28 kinds of reviews. In our stock we have story book, novels, short stories, compulsory readings, as well as volumes of poetry or science books written for children. We have annually 1600 new readers and almost 17 thousands of visitors. We regularly organize writer and reader meetings, competitions, poem telling competitions, activities evoking festival national customs. Every year we organize programmes for the autumn book for children- week as well as we commemorate the day of Hungarian culture, the week of Hungarian language and the day of poetry. We keep lessons for kindergarten - and school children about the usage of the library. Permanent organizations: Our monthly organizations are “ magic armchair”, within the scope of it we keep tradition saving craftsman pursuits, competitions, presentations for the invited persons.
